COURSE CONTENT:

Optical Fibre Theory and Manufacturing (includes CD and PMD, MCVD, PCVD, OVD and VAD processes).
Optical Fibre System and Switching Fundamentals (includes fundamentals of WDM, TDM and DWDM).
Optical Fibre Cable Theory, Manufacturing and Type testing (deals with all underground and overhead cable types).
Installation of Optical Fibre Cables in Underground and Overhead Routes. (Hauling into ducts, ploughing in, blowing into subducts and micro ducts, stringing on overhead routes. We show the students all the installation equipment).
Fusion Splicing, Termination and Acceptance testing (The students will build a fibre route in our lab and analyse all splices, rectify if needed and do acceptance testing on the link).
Project Management on Telecommunication Cable Installation Projects.
