PROGRAM OVERVIEW

According to reports, in 5 years from now, as many as 40 million Nigerian youths will be unemployed. There is need for something urgent to be done to save this threat of unemployment facing our nation. This is the reason for this program. Neonetwireless Nigeria Ltd is proposing to partner with your organization in fighting this threat ahead by training youths in the most lucrative skills in the world today.

We propose to train (in partnership with your organization) youths in IT/Telecoms/Security and Power Engineering skills, In order for the youths of Nigeria to be empowered with the necessary  Skills that will help them to be employable or be on their own. There has to be greater access to ICT/Surveillance and Power tools, there has to be an unobstructed free flow of information. This unfortunately is not the case as at this time present in Nigeria.

The Nigerian youth themselves are also to blame. Our youths nowadays are sadly characterized by a rapidly diminishing mental and intellectual capacity and increased dependence on physical affectations, violence, lust and cheap discarded pleasures of the western world. All these including cultism, armed robbery, prostitution, mass failures in examinations due to laziness and other vices on our own part surely would have contributed to the lethargic attitude of the government at the center towards youth development especially in ICT because ICT requires massive funds injection and if the government keep seeing the kind of Makossa-obsessed youths that we are continually breeding in this country, it can seek to justify its lethargy towards empowerment of the youth as it could be seen as bad investment.

There is no gain saying the fact that while the IT policy of Nigeria is wonderful on paper, much needs to be done concerning the actualization of the objectives and pursuance of the vision in practical terms.

It is worthy to note that for any meaningful empowerment to come the way of Nigerian youths in ICT/Telecoms, the youths must have a say in the IT/Telecoms affairs of this country as it concerns them. Thus, they are strongly advised to focus more on intellectual development instead of chasing after bodily pleasures.

We are happy to inform you that our Fiber Optics Training program meets the Fiber Optics Association (FOA) of America Certification Standard. As a result, many students have been certified through us.

We look forward to training a minimum of 10,000 youths in Nigeria in the above program departments.

PROGRAM DELIVERY STRATEGY

Training Methods

·         The training will combine both theory and pure practical / experimental method of teaching. Each participant will be given an appropriately designed manual according to his or her department.

·         Participants need not have initial IT/Telecoms/Surveillance/Power Engineering  background to be qualified for this program as there are structures in place to fill the IT/Telecoms  knowledge gap in any participant that lacks the basics required to develop  IT skills and how to utilize the skills to cream business opportunities.

·         Different Practical methods of IT/Telecoms network design and Implementation using Live equipment  and simulations

·         Regular assessments to evaluate students’ progress/learning challenges

Training Duration

·         3 Weeks for each department (excluding weekends)

·         Training will start at 9am and closes at 3 pm daily

Accommodation

·         We have a free accommodation at Ijesha Surulere for our students that come from outside Lagos.
